The nearest train station to Can Pastilla is the Intermodal Station in Palma, in front of the busy Plaza España. You can get a bus here to Can Pastilla as at present it is not possible to get straight to Can Pastilla by train.

It is impossible to get to Can Pastilla by train, however we do boast of a tourist train in the area (EMT number 52) that links us with El Arenal, all along the beach front. The itinerary starts at Cami de Can Pastilla 110, right by Hotel Linda, it travels along the Avenida Bartolomé Riutort and stops at all the Balnearios, until reaching Balneario 1, right at the start of El Arenal.

Don?t confuse this train with the Sóller train, a wooden train built back in 1912 that takes you to the pretty town of Sóller and that many erroneously call the ?tourist train?.

Even though this train is presently one of Mallorca?s main tourist attractions, this was not the case years ago. The Sóller train was built with contributions made by the valleys inhabitants that saw it as the only way to save the mountains from exploitation and at the same time make the trip into the city quicker.

The Sóller train leaves from the station with the same name; it is located at C/Eusebio Estada number 1 in Palma. At the station?s office you can get information on the times and buy tickets half an hour before the train is due to leave.

The two trains bear no relation to each other.

The ticket price for the little train that runs along the Playa de Palma is 4? , and this allows for one stop where you can get off and visit one of the various places of interest you will find along the route like:

-Ses Fontanelles. The spot called ?Ses Fontanelles? is the last wetland found in Palma de Mallorca, it is located around Balneario 14, just near the Palma Aquarium.

-Playa de Palma. It is a 4, 5 km stretch of white sandy beach, commonly known as El Arenal. It is between Can Pastilla and Son Verí and boasts of many hotels and residential areas.

-Balneario 6. The balnearios are beach bars set at certain distances along Playa de Palma; each one is identified by a large blue number, a great way to get ones bearings in the area. Balneario 6 or ?der ballermann? as it is known by the Germans, is known as Mallorca?s Little Germany, as it is around this area that you will find the most German people, and they use if for their summer parties.

-The Porciúncula; known as the glass church, due to its walls that are made up totally of glass that produce beautiful light effects.
